CAVITEX - CALAX gives auxiliary support in response to COVID-19
Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation and MPCALA Holdings Inc., the toll road concessionaires under the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation joined hands to promote the spirit of bayanihan through auxiliary support to host communities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
About 33 barangay beneficiaries in the vicinity of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) from the cities of Parañaque, Las Piñas, Taguig, Pasay in Metro Manila, Santa Rosa and Biñan in Laguna and City of Bacoor and municipalities of Kawit and Silang in Cavite.
Barangay beneficiaries received items such as rice, canned goods and noodles that they may give to residents apart from the subsidized items courtesy of their respective local government units. Moreover, the protocols and measures imposed by the Department of Health such as “social distancing” were strictly followed on the conduct of this activity.
Additionally, MPT South also donated 50 safety reflectorized vests to the Philippine Navy – Fleet Marine Ready Force sailors and marines deployed within CAVITEX and other major thoroughfares in the area. The initiative aims to support the government sector for the sustenance of the communities during the worldwide crisis brought by COVID-19.
“CAVITEX and CALAX are one with the government and its implementing agencies in the fight to combat the spread of COVID-19. We also salute you, our front liners, for the compassion in ensuring the safety and security of our countrymen in this time of crisis,“ Assistant Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Arlette V. Capistrano said. Meanwhile, CAVITEX and CALAX remain open to cater to enable unhampered flow of goods and services to neighboring regions while considering safety and security of motorists. Various efforts have been extended as well to support front liners especially in the health sector made possible by the Tulong Kapatid, the corporate social responsibility arm of the companies, foundations and affiliates led by businessman Manny V. Pangilinan.
Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation is the toll road arm of MPIC that holds the concessions for Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the NLEX Connector Road, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu for its domestic portfolio.
