As part of their asset preservation program, the Manila-Cavite Expressway or CAVITEX, is scheduled to commence the resurfacing of the R1 (Coastal) section, particularly the northbound stretch from the Zapote Interchange to the Wawa Bridge. The said resurfacing work is part of the company’s thrust to provide motorists with a safe and comfortable travel in CAVITEX. The project not only provides a smooth and well-maintained road but is also aimed at strengthening the structural stability and prolonging the design and service life of the road pavement. The overlay will be using stone-mastic asphalt and implemented with proper traffic and lane management procedures.

The square holing, patching and asphalt overlay of the road section is roughly one kilometer and the CAVITEX contractor, AKH Construction and Trading Corporation will complete the works by 30 June 2015. Motorists are advised to some traffic inconveniences in the area.

“The resurfacing project is part of CAVITEX management’s effort in further improving its services to the motorists. This short-term improvement works will bring CAVITEX customers long-term convenience”, said Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation president, Luigi Bautista.

Also, the Department of Public Works and Highways has started the construction of the NAIA expressway on and off ramps at the junction of MIA Road and CAVITEX. The said project has slowed down the morning rush hour traffic. Motorists are advised to make necessary adjustment to their day to day schedule by traveling earlier than usual.
